Hillside Music Festival
Two weeks ago I made my annual pilgrimage to Hillside Music Festival in Guelph Ontario. It's one of the best trips of the year and hands down my favourite place to listen to live music. Even though the festival is small (you can always get to the front of the stage) some of Canada's biggest bands (like Arcade Fire) have played there, and this year was no different. I saw Hydra (Feist/Snowblink/AroarA), Tegan and Sara, Esther Grey and some new favourites such as Alvvays, Stella Ella Ola, Basia Bulat. It's unlike any festival you've been to before. The food is delicious (hello indian tacos), the beer is reasonably priced (and local), everyone is so friendly (people come up to your campfire to share songs), the music is amazing (Feist was there!), and it's simply magical and if you've never been, you should. Hillside is legendary.
