20 Things Fitzy Made in 2016
2016 was a pretty busy year for Fitzy. I stopped working from home and moved into a brand new studio. Having a workspace outside my home has made me so much more productive. I didn’t realize just how productive, until I took an inventory of everything I made. Last year in addition to designing and launching 7(!) new products, I completed 6 new knitting projects, and sewed 7 pieces of clothing.
I’ve been knitting off and on since high school, and this year I was very much on. I find it very meditative (until I drop a stitch). It’s also so wonderfully portable. While usually I do my knitting on the couch in 2016 I also spent time knitting in front of a campfire, in the car, and on the beach. Last year I finished 5 knitting projects, which I think is a new record for me. The best thing I made is a big cozy purple cardigan that I’ve been wearing pretty much non-stop (I’m wearing it now).
2016 was also the year I discovered YOU CAN SEW YOUR OWN CLOTHES!!! I know this seems pretty obvious to most of you, but it was an absolute revelation for me. Those of you who know me know that I’m extremely picky when it comes to my clothing. Having the ability to make what I want, have it fit the way I want it, in the fabric I want is pretty much amazing. Last year I made 7 pieces of clothing, and I expect that number will be a whole lot higher in 2017. This year I’ve already made myself a Farrow dress in striped denim, and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my bra making kit from Tailormade shop.
So here are the 20 things I made in 2016:

I’m so impressed! I love each item, we absolutely have the same tastes in choice of materials and colors – linen, cotton, leather. I’m also a leather crafter, beginner at sewing and knitting. You’ve given me inspiration to start some projects! Congrats on moving into your new studio!
